How to use an SDS correctly
A Safety Data Sheet is product-specific. Follow these checks before handling, storing, transporting or servicing equipment with refrigerant.
Match the cylinder
Confirm the refrigerant designation, brand and manufacturer shown on the physical cylinder label.
Check the revision
Use the current U.S. English SDS from the official manufacturer portal and review all 16 sections.
Follow approved procedures
Use compatible equipment, required PPE and the equipment manufacturer’s service instructions. Never mix refrigerants.
Safety Data Sheet questions
Can I use an SDS from a different brand?
No. Use the SDS that matches the exact product, brand and manufacturer on the cylinder supplied. Different brands of the same refrigerant designation may have different supplier information, document revisions or product-specific instructions.
Why do the buttons open a manufacturer search portal?
Manufacturer portals provide the current controlled document for the selected country and language. This helps avoid outdated third-party copies. Use the search term shown on each product card.
What if I cannot find the correct SDS?
Do not rely on a substitute document. Contact Cool Gas Depot with the store SKU, product name and a clear photo of the cylinder label so the correct document can be identified.
Does an SDS replace technician training?
No. An SDS supports hazard communication and safe work planning, but it does not replace EPA certification, A2L training, equipment-specific service procedures or applicable federal, state and local requirements.
